William Henry AXTELL (1872-1922), born at 228 Saint John Street, Clerkenwell, on the 8th January 1872, was the first known child born to William Charles AXTELL (1849-1922), and his wife Ann BICK. Ann AXTELL née BICK (1850-1901) (Mother) was the informant, and the birth was registered on the 15th February 1872, in Holborn, Saint James, Middlesex. The birth certificate identifies William Daniel AXTELL* (French Polisher) as the child’s father. *Actually the child's father was William Daniel Charles AXTELL (1849-1922) (French Polisher).

1872
William Henry AXTELL was baptised on the 4th February 1872, in the Parish of Saint Thomas Charterhouse, Middlesex, (1872 Page 251 No. 2008). The Church records identify William Daniel* and Ann AXTELL living at 228 St John Street, Clerkenwell, as the parents of the child. *Actually the child’s father was William Daniel Charles AXTELL (French Polisher).

Witnesses at the ceremony: William AXTELL (1849-1922) (French Polisher) (Groom's Father) and Anne AXTELL née BICK (1850-1901) (Groom's Mother). The wedding certificate identifies William AXTELL (French Polisher) (Grooms Father). Wedding cards from William Henry and Emily Augusta, dated 4th April 1896, gave their home address as, 59 Spencer Street, Clerkenwell. William Henry AXTELL, and Emily Augusta AXTELL née ROWE had three children.

1897
Augusta Annie AXTELL (1897-1899) born at 59 Spencer Street, Clerkenwell, on the 8th July 1897, was the first child born to William Henry AXTELL and his wife Emily Augusta AXTELL née ROWE. Emily Augusta AXTELL nee ROWE (Mother) was the informant and the birth was registered in Holborn, Goswell Street, London, on the 17th Aug 1897. The birth certificate identifies William Henry AXTELL (Compositor) as the father of the child.

1899
Augusta Annie AXTELL, (Female) (19m) (Daughter of William AXTELL (Compositor), died at 10 Gloucester Street, on the 23rd February 1899. Emily Augusta AXTELL née ROWE (Mother) was the informant and the death was registered in Holborn, Goswell Street, London, on the 25th February 1899. The death certificate identifies William AXTELL (Compositor) as the child’s father. A memorial card for Augusta Annie AXTELL shows that Augusta Annie was Interred at St Pancras Cemetery, Finchley.

The birth certificate identifies William Henry AXTELL (Compositor) as the father of the child. William Charles AXTELL married Emily Alice Lillian ROSE (1901-1988), they had five children.

The third and last child born to William Henry AXTELL and his wife Emily Augusta AXTELL, was Annie Augusta AXTELL (1902-1983). Annie Augusta was born at 6 Gloucester Street, Holborn, on the 17th June 1902. The mother, Emily Augusta AXTELL nee ROWE, was the informant, and the birth was registered in Holborn, South Clerkenwell, London, on the 22nd July 1902. The birth certificate identifies William Henry AXTELL (Compositor) as the father of the child. Annie Augusta AXTELL married Wilfred Ernest HALL (1901-1980), they had two children.

1902 On the 5th July 1902, the younger sister of William Henry AXTELL, Ann AXTELL (1874-____) (28) (Spinster), married James PINCH (1879-____) (23) (Bachelor) (Traveller) at Saint Mark’s Church, Clerkenwell, London. Ann was living at 6 Whiskin Street, James PINCH at 6 Gloucester Street. Witnesses at the ceremony included, the brides father, William Henry AXTELL, and the brides younger sister, Florence AXTELL (1876-1964).

1909
William Henry AXTELL, (Male) (37) (Compositor), died at 11 Sans Walk on the 28th January 1909. His wife Emily Augusta AXTELL née ROWE (Widow of deceased) (Present at the death), was the informant, and the death was registered in Holborn, Clerkenwell, London, on the 29th January 1909. William Henry was interred at Finchley Cemetery. The funeral Directors: H.E. Pierce, Undertakers, 27 Featherstone St, City Road. The total cost of the funeral, including the grave at Finchley was £7.17.6 (£7.62p).

1928
William Henry’s son, William Charles AXTELL (1899-1987) (28) (Bachelor) (Motor Accessories Dealer), married Emily Alice Lillian ROSE (1901-1988) (26) (Spinster) on the 12th April 1928. William Henry AXTELL (Deceased) (Compositor), was identified as being the groom's father. Witnesses at the ceremony were: Emily Augusta AXTELL née ROWE (Groom's Mother) and Emily Elizabeth ROSE née PRATT (1875-____) (Bride's Mother).

1929
William Henry’s daughter, Annie Augusta AXTELL (1901-1983) (26) (Spinster), married Wilfred Ernest HALL (1901-1983) (27) (Widower) (Cycle Manufacturer), on the 6th June 1929, William Charles AXTELL* (Deceased) (Compositor), was incorrectly recorded as being the bride's father. William Henry AXTELL* (Deceased) (Compositor) was in fact the bride's father. Witnesses at the ceremony were: Emily Augusta AXTELL née ROWE (Bride’s Mother) and W.D. HALL (Groom’s Father).

1966
William Henry’s wife, Emily Augusta AXTELL née ROWE died on the 21st March 1966. After the death of William Henry in 1909 Emily Augusta AXTELL married Alfred DAVIES (1857-1927). The death certificate for Emily Augusta incorrectly identifies her as the widow of William Charles AXTELL (Compositor). Emily Augusta was in fact the widow of Alfred DAVIES, and her previous husband had been William Henry AXTELL (Compositor), not William Charles.
